As long as you have attribute points to spread out between them, you can have points in all eight attribtures. The reason people usually have 12/10/10 or whatever is because they are filling a niche in a party and only need those attributes for the skills they use.

Doc, yes you can split up your attributes like that. BUT....

The reason most people split their atts up into 3 is because by maxing out 3 attributes and using spells in those makes your character more powerful than splitting up into eight. Say you want your monk to be a kickass healer? Put your points into Healing Prayers (and divine favour) Rather be a smiter? Then stick them in Smiting Prayers. Your ranger needs lots of points in Marksmanship to be really effective with that bow. While you *could* divide all your points into all eight, but that would make you a jack of all trades, but master of none. the most effective thing to do is decide your niche, the things you want your character to excel at, and divide up your points accordingly.

Talking I'm a newbie, and I really need some help please

Hey everyone,

I'm probably one of the biggest newbs ever. I have never played an MMO before in my life. So far I'm doing pretty well. I just want to ask you guy's opinion on something. Well, I have a Ranger/Necromancer, I'm now lvl 8, I'm just having the biggest problem on trying to figure out what to put my attribute points into. I know that if I hurry up and pick something, I will be fighting much better than I am right now. I was just wondering if any of you guy's out there have a R/N and what would be a good combination of attributes? Because, right now, I am just lost! Thanks!

Hi SweetPea22,

I'm a R/N @ 10. I have been allocating most of my attributes to, Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Expertise. I find this to be a good mix. I belive my Hog helps me loads, he's level 10. The Expertise allows me to generate energy faster. The Markmanship attribute is also good, this allows me too inflict initial high-damage with the bow. For the necro i am allocating most of my points to death/blood magic.

Thanks Sillent Spence for your input! =). I decided to try out putting most of my points into Marksmanship, blood magic and beast mastery and see how that works out for me. Luckily, you can change the points around b/c i have the hardest time deciding, hehe. Thanks again!

Default Manual

I did a quick search of this forum and did not get any results, I've seen the online manual at Guildwars.com. What I want to know, is there a printable version of this manual? or the one that comes with the retail box? I purchased my Key from NCSoft online. So I don't get a printed manual. I would like to have one though. Manualy printing the large number of links in the online manual would not be a good solution. Thank you in advance for any helpful response.

ps Why is there no official Guildwars Forum? Or is there? I do not see a link to one on the Guildwars site.

i'm kind of disappointed with the types of drops occuring in-game...i'm pretty sure the GW gods are doing this to piss me off lol. here's my question: why am i always finding weapons that have little use for the weapon i'm trying to master? i am currently using a W/Mo lvl.8 trying to hack away with a sword. every time i kill i wind up getting some bow or hammer, and it's getting kinda annoying because the sword i'm using is a short sword with 6-8 damage. other than trading, what is a good way of getting a good sword?

Default Numbers

I cannot for the life of me figure this out I was reading some guides and came across numbering like this: 12/20/20. What does it mean? I think it has something to do with attributes or energy or ???

After you ascend you will be in Dragon Lair, zone out of that area into Tomb of Primeval Kings, it is there you get a group and enter the HoH.

Hi all!
I just recently bought Guild Wars because it looks like a great game and I was in need of something to take up my time since I've been sick a lot lately =/

Well, heres my question: I play the nuker/skill spammer/etc (not sure what you call it in GW, but thats my normal build) and I was wondering what the best class (combo) would be for a pure pvp build. I have heard that you can do directly to max lvl and have a pre built pvp char, but whats the fun in that? That brings up another question, if I were to make one of these "PvP pre builts", do I get to select the skills I want for the character or are those pre selected too?

I have some other questions, but I'll spare you all (for now.. ><) Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm sorry if these were answered somewhere else (I havn't gotten to all the stickies yet =p)

Thanks.
- Tommy

*EDIT* Sorry for invading on other people's questions! =/

*EDIT 2* I have another question: Is there anything you can ride/drive/etc for faster transportation in this game?

sorry, should have been more specific - you enter the RvR at the Tomb, from there it takes between 1-8 wins to get to the HoH (depends on how many others are in the que for HoH, if you get lucky you can get in early otherwise it takes 8, I think it is, wins to get to the HoH for the final battle, I have only gotten in early once and that was not long after the game released at about 4 am)
Also keep in mind with the sigils, if your team wins in the HoH, only 2 of the team members will get the sigil. All the rest get squat.
